Examination Copies
Berghahn is pleased to offer the majority of its book titles in e-format.
If you are an instructor and would like to request a FREE e-inspection copy for possible course adoption, simply follow this link and search by Title, Author or Keyword.
- If you already have an account with us, simply enter your email address and password. If not, you will be prompted to create one.
- Once your request is approved (to ensure this please include as much of the requested information as possible) you will have digital access to the book.
- Your initial inspection period will be 45 days from when you first open the e-inspection version of the book. However, we are happy to grant extension requests in special circumstances. Go to your Bookshelf on the e-inspection copy request page, click on 'All Books', then on the book you wish to renew. At the bottom right you will see the option to request an extension.
We do not provide free examination copies for scholarly research, personal use, nor are we able to donate copies. If you are a student or a researcher, please access our titles via your university library. If a certain title isn’t part of the collection, please recommend it to your librarian.
Only paperback editions are available as print examination/inspection copies. Berghahn Books charges a nominal fee for print copies in order to cover shipping. To request a paperback print copy, please e-mail ben.parker@berghahnbooks.com (UK/Europe) or alina.zihharev@berghahnbooks.com (USA and Rest of the World.)
While we do not provide print examination copies of hardback titles, we do encourage you to consider them for adoption. Your students would not need to purchase the hardback because our e-book pricing is comparable to that of our paperbacks, and the majority of our titles are available in e-format.
Qualified professors are entitled to paperback or e-desk copies of adopted titles free of charge, with minimum enrollment of 10 students. For inquiries about Desk copies or other questions about our Exam/Desk Copy program please contact publicityuk@berghahnbooks.com.
